If you use a shelter charm in KoKF, you can't be attacked. You can buy shelter charms from the item mall, or you can use a novice card on the WoKF website for 20 free shelter charms.
After using it, you're free to kill all the arena underlings. That way you can get more points and get that refined weapon you're looking for.
